ADELE That's fine. Out of this house tomorrow morning-before I leave here, or with me-suit your choice. And don't look so mournful (Gathers up her belongings at the shelf.)...Smile. You're going to be happier than you think, earning a living for a change. (Moves briskly through the back room and up the stairs.) BOBBY You do look pretty bad, Theo. A job might be just the thing for you. (Mr. JENKINS comes rushing from the bed into the shop.) MR. PARKER Jenkins! I plumb forgot—— MR. JENKINS I let you make a fool out of me, Parker! MR. THEO (To BOBBY.) I don't know what you are talking about——you had your chance a few minutes ago, but all you did was poke your eyes at me and nod your head like a fool. BOBBY I don't see why you gotta make such a big thing out of her taking charge. Somebody's gotta do it. I think she's right! THEO I know what she's up to. She wants us to get jobs so she can fix up the house like she always wanted it, and then it's got' happen. BOBBY What's that?
