Complaint
Plaintiffs claim their Nephew who was illegally bound to Isreal Hargrove returned to their protection
 
Deft appeared and admitted the illegality of the binding. Deft moved that the Plaintiffs pay him the sum of Twenty-dollars, as he had commenced a crop with this boy, he would be forced to hire some-one else. Admitted by the court

It is ordered by the Court that the Indentures binding Moses Hargrove to Isreal W Hargrove, be this day cancelled, and the boy Moses returned to James and Robt Hargrove.

Complaint _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Plaintiff claims pay for labor rendered Defendant in the year 1866. 
Case of Investigation 

Howard Thomas F'd Plff. being duly sworn states as follows: To wit: that he made a written contract with LB Allen,(Deft.)that D.S. Allen was a witness. That D.S. Allen took the Contract without his consent that he (Thomas) has never seen the Contract since, although he often asked to see it. that he worked for half the crop made. that he did not agree to furnish a wash-woman to Allen, that he agreed to repair fences, but did not split enough rails to do this. but did repair the fences by taking rails off of an inside fence. 

Herry Thomas (F'd) being duly sworn states as follows. To wit: That he often heard his Father ask Mr Allen for a copy of the Contract, but that Allen refused to give him one. That he never heard the Contract read & never heard Allen say that he would charge them for the work they failed to do if they did not work at certain times. That they got one or two loads of rails from pasture fence, that Allens hands laid off their (Plffs) corn land. 

Lewis Allen (F'd) sworn states as follows; To wit: that he heard Allen (Deft) say, that no one should know what their contract was until the crop was gathered. & that Allen (Deft) told him what the hands would get but has forgotten.
