Respecting the pension of Pater Browning reference as been to comiss Barrett  at Washington D.C whose reply is as follows
Peter Downing will have to apply to the office of the 3rd auditor for that portion of his pension not claimed  within fourteen months. His pension is to be paid at the rate of $8 from March 4, 1866 to June 5 1866 and thereafter at $15 and  it is probable that the auditor will pay the increase between of $2 per month is not really unclaimed . You should [[?not pay Downing until the unclaimed part is settled at the treasurey
Downing was paid at this  agency thru 4/66  He did not apply again for payment with in 14 mon and was so reported to the comms 13 auditor after which report he could only be paid at
