Mrs. Evelyn S. Bryan,
Box 667,
Jefferson City, Tennessee.

Dear Mrs. Bryan:

Through the courtesy of Mr. R. H. Jones, Jr., of Taylor Jobbing Company, South Cumberland Street, Morristown, Tennessee, the attention of the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission has been called to an act performed by you, by which on April 28, 1958, you saved John J. Ryan and attempted to save Dave L. McNiel from death by burning and an impending explosion, near Morristown, Tennessee. After a thorough investigation, your case was considered at a meeting of the Commission held today, and we take pleasure now in advising you that, in recognition of your heroism on that occasion, the Commission awarded you a bronze medal and the sum of two hundred fifty dollars to be used for a worthy purpose as needed.

Kindly inform us by personally-signed letter whether or not you wish to accept this award. If your reply is affirmative, the medal will be ordered and forwarded to you as soon as it has been received from the manufacturer, and we will write you suggesting uses for your award money which has approval of the Commission.

Sincerely yours,

David B. Oliver
