Dear Mrs. Packard:

What a delight to meet with you last Tuesday afternoon. I enjoyed the opportunity to question you and hear about some of you wartime experiences. In addition, your scrapbook contains a significant number of important documents on the public relations department. I have found the conference manuals to be particularly useful. Slowly, the story of women's involvement in aviation is coming together for me.

I am returning your scrapbook to you as I know it is of great personal value. I have Xeroxed many of the articles to put in my research files. One further note is that in the process of copying these things, I have taken the liberty of replacing a number of the metal paper clips with plastic ones. This will help prevent further damage to the artifacts due to rust and corrosion.

Thank you for lending the book to me. I will be in touch with you again. I hope you enjoyed your brief visit at the museum--you'll have to come more often.

                            Sincerely yours,

                            Deborah G. Douglas
