Major Clark started toward the back of the plane to "bail out" when he noticed that the ship was about to stall the citation said. Major Clark took off his parachute and went back to the cockpit to right the plane.

All members of the crew by this time, had executed an emergency jump. It became apparent that the ship was about to go into a dive because of the weight difference as the crew left.

Major Clark returned to the rear of the ship which at the time was only 300 feet from the ground. He jumped with only one leg fastener of his parachute in place, and the chest buckle fastened.

Major Clark now is serving as executive officer of the operations section of the Ferrying Division.
