Dear Mrs. Reilly:

Thank you very much for extending an invitation to attend the Metropolitan WAC Birthday Luncheon on May 11th. As I had mentioned on the telephone I am currently writing a book for the National Air and Space Museum on U.S. Women in Aviation from 1939 to the present. Aviation is used in its broadest sense to include women who were aircraft mechanics, air traffic controllers etc. I have some material on Air-WACs but hope to be able to expand on my present research.

I look forward to the opportunity to meet members of your organization. Please find enclosed my personal check to cover the cost of the luncheon. If it is possible, I would appreciate some sort of receipt in order that I might receive reimbursement from the museum. Thank you very much. I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely yours,
