Stoughton Nov 5th 1930

Dear Doris

We are having rains now for four days but not cold, wind is from the south mostly. the sun we see occasionally. I hope cold weather remains away down there for you, till you get your damper, so you can have your furnace fire to keep the house warm.

Mrs Barry has just gone to church in spite of the rain. the weather in nights paper said clearing but it doesnt always hit it, I suppose we need the rain though so many leaves have fallen mine blow away out front but plenty in back though.

I am glad Doris is made happy by going night to entertainments & lucky to get her work daytimes. I am sorry Helen is having such hard luck. hope Geoff will improve later on.

I am going to vote, they have sent me an absent voting paper, will try to do my best even though it dont ammount to anything. we need more Republican voters, dont you think.

Last Thursday was a very warm day so I sat out on the porch most of the time, she was gone to Chicotaubut meeting, being here alone, it helpt to pass away the time.

I sit in the front chamber a great deal, it is  lighter here to read, or to sew. I like this chair it was aunt Marys & Kate was so mad, because Alice Talbot said that I could have it. little I though then I should live
