Dear Doris

We are now having a warm spell of weather after a freeze of very cold temperature, so we had to take our hot water to bed with us two nights running. No wonder theres so much sickness going the rounds.

Before I forget it I will have you tell Sidney his red nightie cap we found on the bureau in the frost chamber after he left. The thermometer this morning on the porch registered 60° so guess if it remains warm we shant [[shan't]] need any extra heat to keep the house warm.

The hospital over the way has been added to they have put on a pair of outside stairs, they reach up as far as the second story. It may be a fire escape. Every one says it is run by a very nice set of people, far different from the Brides sisters. Have plenty to eat & better dispositioned set of people, they are far better every way.

Laura Gebhardt [[?]] came after us Thursday to go down there for a few hours, to see them & Bill brought us home in the car. They have a very comfortable little house living with Norma & her little one. & when Myrtle came over to see us, she said she missed Laura very much. By the way Albert Gilchen her husband brought us over Friday a glass jug of homemade cider from the apples in their own yard. It was the best tasting cider that I ever drank. He said keep it in a cool place, where it dont work so we have got it on the table beside the refrigerator. I wish you could
