Dear Doris. Its going to be a warm day 70° early this morning. we roasted all day yesterday I was out on the porch most all day. we haven't had a very bad summer though but its been dry better very dry than rainy. my lawn is too brown to mow so the Colder boy being away I wouldnt [[wouldn't]] have him to mow it. I was glad Doris wrote her letter to both Mrs Barry & me it pleased us both. she is having a wonderful vacation after her graduation. Poor Dolores doesnt [[doesn't]] fare so well, she is lucky to get invited out here the 28th to stay nights, we pity her. she thinks you may come back here before she goes back again. I would wish it could be so. when do you expect to return? I hope you get rested from so much tramping about. The reason we dont get you I think is because you dont stay long enough in one place. now you do get my letters Doris says you better. I am pleased to think they hit you as you are staying longer at the hotel where you can rest up more. Mrs Barry went to West Roxbury to see an old friend who is sick not expected to live. she got all tired out getting off the Busses & on again but she was very anxious to see her before she passed away. I was here I read most of the time. Elizabeth Southworth called at night & was sorry not to see her at home. I take lots of comfort sitting there on the little porch. the Colder boy came over when he mowed the lawn the last time, Mrs Barry had him play checkers with me. do you know he beat me both times. he is a good musician always plays on the organ when he comes over. the sun has just made its appearance so guess it wont rain to day. well hope this letter reaches you all right, love to both of you hope you see the sights.
