Dear Ma!

The days are flying past and between working all I can at the museum and trying to go about sightseeing our time is going my fast indeed. Sid starts in work out at Kew next week, and Doris is going up to Stratford-on Avon to be in Shakespeare country and see all the places about it. She will go late Sunday and not return till the following Sat. night.

We cut off work at 4 yesterday and met Doris at the gates of Regent Park to visit the zoo. This is one of the biggest zoos and altho not occupying much space was full of inhabitants ranging from mice to elephants. The bird houses are especially fine. We saw a poor American Robin, some Bob whites, and a wood thrush among the exhibits. After that closed at 7, we walked thru one end of Regents' Park, where there are beautiful gardens. Then at dusk we came out to Soho and had a late meal.

Today we want to spend the afternoon at Hampton Court if possible. that is about 15 miles out on the Thames and is the site of much royal history, as well as being a very beautiful place with lovely surroundings.

My work at the museum is going along fast. I enjoy being with the people there too, many of whom I have met by correspondence. They are very nice to me & I have a good light table and the run of the collection, and it is a wonderful collection.

We read of Korean disasters - and keep hoping that they will end- but fear not. I think we shall get home before anything further develops on this side. It will probably be the last time we shall ever see this side of the Atlantic.

Now I must get dressed for breakfast-

Doris
