25 July 50,
Dear Ma, Tomorrow we leave for Copenhagen. Stockholm is all islands and spreads out over several, with many connecting bridges,- a lovely setting. This lacy towered steeple in the middle is the church where the bones of all the Swedish Kings rest. It never seems to get really dark here. When we came home at midnight the sky looked bright, as if the sun was just set, and the gulls were flying about. It gets completely light long before 4 o'clock. Got a letter from Lena yesterday & hope to find one from you in Copenhagen. So far have had only 1 from you, but looking forward to a batch sometime. Hope all is well. Sid is beginning to pack up for an early flight (8.10) tomorrow morning. D. & I won't reach Copenhagen till supper time. We are just the same distance from Copenhagen as Petersburg Russia! Doris
