Lieut.

The Asst Coms'r directs me to say that you will cause the buildings lately in use by the military in your City to be transferred to Judge Fannin to be used by him as Hospitals, as fast as their occupancy can be dispensed with by you.

You will also make such acquisitions (returns) for rations as may be required for the Hospitals he will establish and forward them to this office for approval.

18 is received, notifying Gen Swayne of the shipment of three bales of blankets, donations from England for distribution among the Freedmen.  The receipt of the goods will be duly acknowledged, and any information that will be of interest to the donors will be cheerfully furnished.

The Asst Coms'r requests that you will enquire into the case of a certain claim of J.McDavid of Huntsville for the possession of his property, now in charge of the Bureau.  If Mr McD comes under the Amnesty exceptions and has been pardoned or if he does not and has taken the proper Amnesty oath you will if in your judgement there is no reason to the contrary deliver up to him his property with all rents accruing subsequent to Dec'r 31st 1866
