Ala Sirs; Will you please inform me whether the two Freedmen, John and Frank, reported by you in your letter of Feb 3. 1866 as in confinement in your County Jail, have been discharged under the provisions of the Proclamation of the Governor of Ala dated Feb 12. 1866. Luut and Prvt Wm Jackson of your Co received a furlough for thirty days on the 19th of December, 1865. They have failed to report back to their Station as yet. It is reported to me unofficially that they reported at Springfield and were directed to remain there until time expired.
