General I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 7th inst in reference to a letter of introduction last by Mr. F. Freemen, and to assure you that care will be taken that no other person obtains my confidence by presenting it. General The case of Harriet Osborn (Cold) who asks that her daughter Caroline may be aided in coming to her was referred by me to the Supt of her District who has returned the papers with a report. Genl Woods the Dept Commander will be requested to have retained in service the Quartermaster at Huntsville until such time as the transportation can be turned over to the Bureau.
