Your communications of the 4th inst is received. It is impracticable at present to give you a leave of absence as there is no one to relieve you. It is however thought probably that some one may be found to relieve you by the first of next Month. In that case you can have a leave of absence for forty five (45) days, with pay for thirty. Bvt Maj Hoge having been mustered out of service, it is not now necessary to relieve him from duty as Judge of Freedmens Court. In point of fact the muster out relieved Maj Hoge of all his duties in the Bureau.
