Montgomery Ala. Jan. 11th 1866.

Officer Commanding 
Post of Tuskegee Ala. 

The General Commanding directs that you immediately upon the receipt of this concentrate the Garrison of Opelika and Union Springs at Tuskegee and move your command by rail to Montgomery and from here by boat to Selma Ala. 

You will recall the two Companies at Eufaula and order them to follow you to Selma, on the same route. 

The Transportation will be turned over to Capt. Graves, A.Q.M. at Montgomery Ala.

On your arrival at Selma Ala. you will detach two Companies to Demopolis Ala., to garrison that Post and take command of the Post of Selma, retaining there the remainder of the 8th Iowa Inf. Vols. 

The Posts of Tuskegee, Opelika, Union Springs and Eufaula will be abandoned.
