I have this day forwarded you by mail twenty (20) blank Inventories and Inspection reports the receipt of which please acknowledge.  In making up your Inspection report for the Post include Batteries Mackintosh and Gladden giving the number &c of Guns.  Also report in proper columns the number of Muskets Caliber and rounds of ammunition.  Please send report for July 31st as soon as practicable.

He promised to make it but discovered afterwards that the appointment could only be made by a Judge of the Circuit Court.  He took the recommendation to N.Y. with him

Your communication of the 3rd inst asking that expenses of transportation of rations that have been and may be incurred by Mr. Rabb be paid by the Bureau R.F. & A.L. is received.  In reply I have the honor to state that all such expenses must be paid by Conecuh County, such claims cannot be paid by the Bureau.
