In making up your Inspection report for the Post include Batteries Mackintosh and Gladden giving the number &c of Guns. Also report in proper columns the number of Muskets Caliber and rounds of ammunition. Please send report for July 31st as soon as practicable. All application was made to Judge Busteed for your appointment as Commissioner. He promised to make it but discovered afterwards that the appointment could only be made by a Judge of the Circuit Court. He took the recommendation to N.Y. with him (over) 131 And Genl. I have to say that you are authorized to make an arrangement with the County Commissioner of Talladega County by which they will secure the rations in bulk and take upon themselves the work of distribution.
