Gen Orders No. 115 series 1865 War Dept A.G.O. directs that after July 1st 1865 no more bounties shall be paid to men enlisting in the Military service.

Upon the ground that bounties would be paid up to that date the claims you have returned were forwarded.

Will you please send me copies of the Orders relating to the cessation of the payment of bounties, and copies of all Orders and regulations now in force in regard to bounties back pay &c.

With reference to communication of Mr Gardners under date of Aug 15 relating to the execution about to be levied on the property of the Poole Estate and by which levy the Freedmen employed on said Estate will be deprived of their wages already accrued and to accrue under their contract.

I am directed by Maj Genl. Swayne to say to you that you will notify the officers of the civil law that such execution cannot be levied and should they attempt it
