I have the honor to deliver to you herewith the person of John Edmundson, a colored employee at these Head Quarters charged by one of your policemen with fighting on the Streets.

I interfered with and prevented the policemen from arresting him in my office simply because of the policemans boisterous insulting, and violent conduct.  Had he had the decency to properly make known himself and his business he would have met with no interruption.
