It is stated to the Asst Commir. that Subsistence is now being issued to persons in all parts of Selma and carried on the returns as issued to the Henry Colony.  The General directs that this cease at once and that hereafter no rations be issued except to those Persons actually at the Colony or Hospital

Your communication of the 10th inst. addressed to Mer. Harmount is receive. I wrote you some days ago in regard to Solomon Robinsons case.  Civil law having been restored all such cases must be adjudicated by the Civil Authorities.  Solomons case appears to be a very clear one.  Cannot a lawyer be employed to plead his case for him with the agreement, that Solomon shall pay him for his services when he receives his just due?

Your communication of the 17th is received.  I send you Mr. Wright as Clerk.  His pay will be Eighty dollars ($80) per month and he has been paid to include today.

I received this afternoon your note of the 15th inst from Mobile.  Clarke Co is sparsely peopled but Cattle are somewhat plenty, so that they do not suffer there as in some localities, still there is suffering there which ought to be relieved and an appointment was made.  There being no money in the County Treasury and the Probate Judge being a mere Clerk
