Complaint is made of this office that Jax S Moore of Auburn Lee County has lad apprenticed to him, without the knowledge and consent of the parents. The boys, named Jack and Jordan the children of Eliza Moore (col'd). It is stated that the indentures were executed at Tuskegee.  This case is out for action under Genl Orders No 3. Current Serve from this office(copy enclosed). the assistant Commissioner desires that you investigate and report your action hereon.

In accordance with your endorsement of the 7th inst on my communication asking authority to employ W.E. Connolly and Robert T. Smith as Bureau Agents at $200/00 per month, I have the honor to request the appointment of W.E. Connolly of Roanoke Ala and of Robert T. Smith of Wedoner Randolph County Ala as Agents at $150/00 per month the appointment of the former to date from May 27th and that of the latter from May 20th, 1867.
I would also request the appointment of Robert Blair as Agent at Tuscaloosa at $100/00 per month to date from April 11th, 1867.
