Yours of the 28th inst enclosing vouchers your for your own pay and for those other items, is received.  Your vouchers for personal pay have been made out and transmitted to Col. Beecher who will remit you a check for the amount today.  Vouchers for travel expenses are herewith returned, they must be made out on form 17 accompanied by an itemized account showing each item of expense.  This latter account you will certify is as follows "I certify that the above account is correct and just and that I have paid the same and that my board bill was accruing at Tuscaloosa during all this time."  The vouchers must show date of leaving and returning from journey and give date of letter directing it.  You can collect sums paid out for postage on form twenty.  All these vouchers should hereafter be sent to Bvt Lt Col. E. Beecher Disbursing Officer at these Head Quarters.  Will write tomorrow relative to the claim for soldiers board bill.

Yours of the 29th ult stating that your horse has been recovered at an expense of over two hundred dollars, and asking how you can be indemnified is received.  I cannot at present say what the probabilities are in such a case but if you will forward a full statement of all the facts together with the items of expense the papers will be submitted to the Assistant Commissioner on his return from the North which will be about the 20th prox.
