202 411 Head Quarters Dist. of Alabama Montgomery Alabama. Aug. 19th, 1867 Brooks Mr William Girard, Alabama. Sir Yours of the 14th inst relative to the action of the County Court of Russell Co. in a bond given by you for the appearance of Sam Buchanan (a freedman) charged with Adultery, is received. You neglected to state on what date said appearance was to be made. Without knowledge of this no decision can be had as to whether the bond was forfeited. The case has been referred to Mr J.B. Troops, stating that his claim against the Government is allowed, and that $206.83/100 is in the hands of the Chief Dis. Officer for remittance to the Claimant.
