Sir

Yours of the 19th inst in reply to communication from this Office of the 15th is received. You state that on the 1st July the A.A. Surgeon drew one months supply for the number then in Hospital. This number according to your report was 6 Refugees and 53 freedmen - an aggregate of 59 persons and there being 31 days in the month the amount so drawn by the A.A. Surgeon must have been 1829 rations instead of 58 as stated in your Reports. Fifty eight rations is not even two days supply for the number of persons reported by you whereas you report it as a months supply. The reports relative to issue of Corn and bacon must be made to W.C. Arthur Actg. Comy. of Subsistence at these Head Quarters.
