Application has been made at this Office for transportation fro this place to Talladega of the family of Mrs Mary Rogers widow of Randall Rogers.  Family consists of Mrs Rogers, her grandmother and daughter and it is stated that they are not able to support themselves, but that Mrs Rogers brother S.P. Irvin a farmer living two miles from Talladega can support them if they are sent to him.  You will therefore report whether Mr Irvin can will support these people if they are sent to him.

Yours of the 23rd inst asking instructions relative to destitute colored persons sick with yellow fever, is received.  The Asst. Commissioner directs me to say that you are authorized to employ a physician at a reasonably monthly compensation to attend the class alluded to.  If on consultation with Dr. Gray the AA Surgeon it is found desirable and can be accomplished without great expenditure you are further authorized to make temporary hospital accommodations for these people.  You will please report to this office the daily increase of the disease.
