Comm. desires me to say that the present policy of the Bureau will not allow of any new appointments being made. Were it otherwise he would take pleasure in considering your application.

Mr. M D Brainard goes this evening to Greenville and thence to Monroe and Clark counties. The Asst. Comm. directs that in case Mr Brainard cannot hire a conveyance in Greenville you allow
