Sir,
The stay of execution issued from this office August 3rd 1867 in the case of James Harrison is so far modified as to allow the state laws to take effect when the liens of the landlord or furnisher of supplies are in question.

It is stated at this Office that you have lived on the property of James Harrison of Lowndes County on a debt contracted in the purchase of goods in the year 1866 you are hereby notified that claims of this character can only be collected after the satisfaction of the laborers wages and you will revoke any contract action which you may have taken. I enclose for your information copy of General Orders No 14 current series from Head Quarters Dist. of Alabama.
