An old colored woman named Dorcas Starke has presented at this office a letter dated at Eutaw on the 23rd inst. from Mr. J.D. Morgan and addressed to the Conductors of the Railroads between here and Warrenton N.C. asking their kind offices in her behalf. She has now but ten dollars left of the money with which she started and consequently cannot complete the journey. She states that her children are in Warrenton and she wishes to reach them that she may be taken care of in her old age. You will please ascertain the circumstance of her case that decision may be made as to the propriety of applying to the Commr for transportation in her case.

Very Respectfully
