Respectfully forwarded with the remark that Mr Fourniers demand is in my opinion exorbitant. I however think, he is entitled to nominal ground rent perhaps five dollars per month.
(signed) C.W. Pierce
Bvt Maj and SAC Comr.
Respectfully returned to Bvt Maj. C.W. Pierce SA Comr. at Demopolis, a regular power of attorney from Mr Fournier can alone be recognized at this office as authority for Mr Hayden to act as his Agent. The monthly rent on the enclosed vouchers is more than that suggested in your endorsement on these papers of august 26th. If you consider it just that Mr Fournier should receive $7.50 per month you will endorse your approval on the face of the vouchers.
