Respectfully returned to Lieut A.S. Bennett Sub Asst Commr. Demopolis  Ala. This property not being now properly in Charge of the General Good and being abandoned property should be taken into possession by the Sub Asst Commr it is under Act of Congress continuing the Bureau and taken up and accounted for upon his land report see Bureau Manual.  There can be no authority given by the Asst Commr. for any transfer of this property other than that given by the Bureau Manual.
It is desired that if practicable this building be used for school purposes but it should not be taken down to be used.
