Respectfully returned with the information that a parcel of land was sold by me under an order of court on the first Monday in Nov last James Q Smith becoming the purchaser It was described as follows. One lot of land containing about five acres more or less and all the improvements therein situated immediately on the South side of the Ala & F R.R. track running to the ravine from the Montgomery River road to the lot of J Morgan adjoining the Gas Works in the city of Selma Ala. whether this is the property alluded to within I am unable to say

The purchaser has informed the Asst Commr that he would rent the building for a fair rent, so long as it may be needed by the Bureau. The Property will be dropped from the land report and rented by the Sub Asst Commr. for use as a Hospital for Freedmen &c from the 29 of Feby 1868.
