March 17 1868 Respectfully forwarded recommending an increase of the present amount ($4000) appropriated by the Bureau for the construction of buildings for Freedmens schools at this place. The present appropriation ($4000) by Bureau & $1000 by AM Miss Ass[[?]] is insufficient to erect such a building as the importance of the place and the educational interests of the large colored population of this section demand.
