Respectfully returned to Bt. Maj Gen W. P. Carlin U.S.A. Asst Commr Bu &c Tenn. remarking that the name of the husband of the applicant in this case should be given. Upon ascertaining his name and to avoid delay it is suggested that Gen Carlin transmit the application to the Asst Commr for Alabama for investigation and report as to the willingness and ability of this man to provide for his wife and child. Attention is invited to the fact that it does not appear that the applicant is dependent upon the Govt for support or liable to become so.
