Comm referred to in the accompanying communication were transferred to me while A.A.Q.M. Selma Ala. by my predecessor Lieut. DuBois for adjustment, but not having received the necessary funds I could not pay them. Before the discontinuance of the Post and by deviation of Bvt. Brig. Genl. Saxton Chief Q M Dept of the South I forwarded the vouchers to him at Atlanta, Ga. I have no information whatever of the rent of building at Tuscaloosa Ala. none having been transferred by my predecessor Lieut DuBois. I am &c H J. Maloney 2" Lieut 33" Infantry. Hd. Qrs.
