I would cordially recommend that Captain Cridenwise be continued in his position as Asst. Supt. of Freedmen at this point.  He has manifested a remarkable degree of energy in his management of his office, and has rendered most valuable service to the freedmen and to the community, as is evidenced by the success that has attended his labors. He has encountered many difficulties and embarrassments in the discharge of his duties, but by his industry and energy has succeeded in establishing the most amicable relations between the freedmen and their employers, and has organized a system of labor
