General:
I am directed by Major Gen. Howard, Commer. to inform you that propositions have been made for the purchase of the Bibb Iron Works and Rolling Mill situated some fifty (50) miles north of the city of Selma.
Gen Howard directs me to say that he has no objection to you making this sale on just terms, if the property is not needed for the use of the Bureau.
The parties applying for purchase are Mr. Frank Lyons, of Demopolis and others.
