Colonel: I have the honor to report to you such matters of interest for the present week as time will allow. 

The matter of lands set apart for the Bureau has at last been partially settled. In accordance with instructions. I made application to the Post Commandant to be put in possession. This application was returned satisfactorily endorsed, as shown in document marked "A". This was served upon the agent of the customs collector, Maj. Nott, (or Knott, I believe) who the next day procured the order from the Sub-District Commandant, marked "B". This of course brought another from the Post Commandant, marked "C". I then called on Col. Magee, several times, and urged the injustice of his decision, and its disregard of proper military authority. He finally consented to endorse upon the order, the explanatory statement
