Sam S. Gardner, A.B.R.F.& A.L. party of the second part, agree's to pay to Lorenzo Griffin, party of the first part, for the lease of the said plantation one third (1/3) of the corn and one forth (1/4) of the cotton raised raised on the place in the year eighteen hundred & sixty six (1866).
Said Griffin, the party of the first part shall have the privilege of supervising and directing the management of the planting on said plantation according to his best judgement and experience as a Southern Planter.
Given under our hands and seals this 27th September 1865. Said lease will expire Jan 1st 1867.
