a respectable citizen of this place, at the time Mr Moseley left for his plantation in Mississippi - he was not engaged in Negro Trading but had closed out his business of that character long before any Federal Troops entered the Territory of Ala Mr Moseley had ceased that business before the ordinance of Secession was taken by our State Convention 11th July 1861. Mr Moseley accepts of the present Condition of things in regard to slavery - has taken the Amnesty Oath in good faith & I have never heard him utter one word against the Federal Government or its policy I have known him long and believe he will carry out in good faith what he promises
