The telegrams of the 26th & 27th have come to hand, and I will go to Nashville the 30th so as to keep my record with regiment right. As to serving as agent as a civilian I cannot feel like doing so, I have the proud consciousness of having served over four years as Chaplain to the best of my ability; have never shrunk from duty. 

Have marched over 3000 miles with my Regt in the early part of the war, and in Gen Hospital nearly two years, and the many gifts (small) & letters in my possession from brother [[soldiers?]] whom I have
