General -  
I have this day sent my clerks, to be ready on arrival of the clothing, and to take charge of it. 
In a letter of instruction to them I have made some suggestions as to the manner of disposing of, and accounting for the clothing. 
If they meet your approbation, I will be obliged if you will issue an order giving directions to govern the case.
As I have no other property on my papers - I have instructed my clerks, that in case Lt. J. F.McGoagy [[McGogy]] is still on duty at your Head Quarters, with your permission, to turn over the clothing to his charge. This is proper, he being the only issuing Quarter Master on duty,

ed. The man's name was J.F. McGogy, who at one time had been appointed Sheriff in 1868, in Butler Co., Ala. His name is also spelled "McGogy" on the Alabama Bu R.F. & A.L. Staff List as "McGogy".
