Mr. A. K. Shepperd who claims authority from Mr Brooks, who claims authority from Mr Little of Vicksburg who claims authority from Mr McCullough the Hon Secretary of Treasury also claims jurisdiction of said property. Furthermore that I am informed and believe and do state that jurisdiction of said property is also claimed by a Mr Gardner an agent of the Freedmens Bureau, also by an agent of the United States Navy, whose name is to your petitioner unknown, who claims authority from the Hon Secretary of the U. S. Navy, and also that each and all of the above mentioned parties claiming jurisdiction of said property claim their jurisdiction to the exclusion of each and every other party. The assetts of the Selma Iron Works consists in debts due it by private parties to the amount of about forty-thousand dollars in Confederate Money, most of which debts are worthless and the iron and broken machinery of said foundry, machine shop and rolling mill and the lot on which the foundry and machine shop was erected - all of which is probably worth about fifteen to twenty thousand dollars in United States currency. The petitioner is informed and believes that one of the stockholders Miss Mary E. Woodson is a Minor under the age of 21 years, that J. W. McClure one of the stockholders of said Selma Iron Works is dead and that from and that C. E. Thames is his administrator and executor. Said McClure owned 33" shares of said stock in said Selma Iron Works. The property of said McClure goes to his brother J. R.  McClure who has taken the amnesty oath and does not come under the disabilities of President Johnsons proclamation of May 29th and to[[?]] Minors The petitioner for said corporation is very anxious to get said property released so that it can be rebuilt and put in operation for the purpose of building, Railroad cars and  furnishing railroad casting which are greatly needed all over this part of the country. Petitioner is informed believes and so states that the status of the stockholder in said Selma Iron Works as to pardons  and taking the oath of amnesty is correctly set forth in the list of stockholders which is herein appended and made part of this application
