Sir:
I have the honor to request that you will give me some reliable information concerning the "Cotton Lands" of the Southern portion of Alabama.
I am one of a Company of ten (10) formed for the purpose of leasing and cultivating a tract in that section we shall require five to ten thousand acres. We prefer to lease from the Government. Any information you may be pleased to give concerning the Amount, and condition of land at present
under your Control.- and the terms upon which it can be had will be thankfully received. We are prepared to send a reliable agent to act for us, obtain leases &c &c at any time.
