The officer present in the mayor's Court knew me to be a US Officer and Asst Supt of this Bureau. I was particularly respectful in my language to the Court while the manner and Language of this Rebel was arrogant and insulting.

General I am a Soldier of two wars for my Government. I have fought this from its incipiency to its close. I think I know my duty and I am proud to say I have testimonials of integrity and efficiency from many distinguished soldiers and citizens of our Country.
