Executive Department of Alabama,
Montgomery August 16" 1865.

Genl,

The bearer, Albert has a wife living, as cook, with Mrs Seibels. He desires to get a pass & thus be at liberty to obtain work in the city, so that he can be with his wife. He tells me not all [[?]]. He appears to be a well conducted man so far as I have had an opportunity of observing & certainly he has behaved well on this lot. I hope you will give him "a pass" as he desires. I was almost willing to say I will be responsible for him myself -
Respectfully
S. E. Parsons
