I have since seen Genl Garrand and in company with Major Miller discussed the propriety of occupying the building under present circumstances — I examined the Roof which never was constructed right - to prevent the Roof from leaking would cost about 250 dollars to construct it permanently would cost a 1000 dollars, the Ceiling in all the Rooms require patching, in the Museum and two others Rooms all the ceiling plaster requires removing and replaced about half the sash in the Building must be repaired and the same amount glazed to make the building tenable for two years would require one thousand dollars — to repair
