Office of Asst Supt of Freedmen Uniontown Ala Sept 30th 1865 Bvt. Col. C. Cadle Jr Asst Adjt General Sir I have the honor herewith to transmit copies of monthly and try monthly reports of Freedmen at this place. I was this day relieved by Sergt H.E. Brown of the 11th [[?]] Inft I leave all orders excetra and sowforth in his charg [[charge]] The cause of the change is the change of Transfer and the necesity of my returning to my Command [[strikethrough]] Command [[/strikethrough]] the 49th I received 615 Rations from Selma for the first five days of Octobr [[October]] those I placed in charge of Sergt Brown The Buildings that I spoke of in my last have been taken [[away by?]] U.S. Marsh John Harvey at Montgomery Ala the Buildings worked out but of but little are except for Hospital and at present would not do for that as water is two scarce Very Respectfully Your Obedt Servt J.
