On this 27th day of October 1865 personally appeared before me, Clerk of the District Court for the northern District of Alabama. Elias Robinson a Freedman to me well know to be a loyal citizen and bona fide resident of Huntsville in the County of Madison and State of Alabama who having been to me first duly sworn according to law deposes and says that the accompanying and forgoing account accounting to Three Hundred dollars against the Government of the United States is here and just to the best of his Knowledge also belief. That on the 21st day of August AD1864 at Huntsville in the County of Madison and State of Alabama, two horses, the property of this affiant were pressed into the service of the United States by one E.A.Cobb 1st Lieutenant and Regimental Quarter Master of the 13th [[strikethrough]] US Cav [[/strikethrough]] Regiment Indiana Volunteer Cavalry, who was there and then acting under order of Col. Q.M.L. Johnson then commanding this Post of Huntsville in said County and
