State, all of which will more fully appear from the receipt given for the said horses which is hereunto annexed and asked to be taken as a part of this application. Affiant further swears that said horses belonged to him and were worth one hundred and fifty dollars each and that before this were pressed and taken as aforesaid he had been offered that sum of money for each of said horses. Affiant further swears that said Lieutenant Cobb took said horses from Affiant's possession, and has never returned them to affiant nor in any manner paid or compensated him in whole or in part for them or either of them, nor has he given affiant any other voucher therefor  than the paper hereunto attached. Affiant further swears that he is a Freedman and had bought said horses with his own means, that he has never been able to ascertain the whereabouts of said Lieutenant Cobb and has had no opportunity to demand of him a voucher as mentioned in said receipt.
